Body plethysmography is an extremely precise method of measuring lung function. The GANSHORN PowerCube Body+ body plethysmograph enables the detection of complex or mixed lung diseases that may not be diagnosed by conventional lung function tests.
Thanks to the increased long-term stability and our new analysis algorithms, you can differentiate between asthma, COPD, restrictions or combinations of these diseases right from the start with a single glance at the waveform.
The device measures lung volume and airway resistance based on pressure changes in a sealed chamber and provides accurate, non-invasive results. It uses Boyle's law to calculate lung volume. Functional residual capacity (FRC) and thoracic gas volume (TGV) are determined by briefly pausing the breath. The total lung capacity (TLC) and the residual volume (RV) are derived from the FRC. Body plethysmography, recognized as the gold standard for RV measurement, is used. In COPD patients, the lung volume can be underestimated due to gas dilution. This device is "Made in Germany" and stands for the highest quality and precision.
The most important features of the PowerCube Body+ at a glance:
- Durable, robust hardware
- Maximum individualized configurations can be ordered
- Very quick and efficient to use: few calibrations required
- Powerful, intuitive LFX software
- Low operating costs
- Truly barrier-free version available
- Height-Adjustable medical trolley

SharpFlow ultrasound technology
SpiroScout, PowerCube Body+ and PowerCube Diffusion+ use GANSHORN's SharpFlow ultrasound technology to provide precise and direct digital measurement of lung function. Thanks to the sound pulse transit time flow determination, these systems guarantee consistently high accuracy and precision with every measurement.
LFX software
The LFX software was specially developed for specialist staff and offers a comprehensive patient management interface for all tasks in practice and clinic operations. Despite its comprehensive functions, operation is simple and intuitive. Based on modern Windows technologies such as .NET, C# and MySQL or SQL databases, the LFX software represents the future of respiratory diagnostics. It includes integrated quality control in accordance with ATS/ERS guidelines, which is available during and after measurements.
