Advantages for children and the elderly
Spirometry tests can be strenuous and require the patient's full cooperation and maximum effort. Older people and young children in particular often have difficulty understanding and carrying out the instructions. In contrast, oscillometry is performed during normal breathing, which means that neither special instruction nor great effort is required from the patient to perform a successful test.

The tremoflo® Airwave Oscillometry System (AOS) is a device for monitoring lung function and diagnosing respiratory diseases such as asthma and COPD in adults and children. It revolutionizes the Forced Oscillation Technique (FOT) by using a vibrating mesh that overlays the patient's natural breathing with oscillating pressure and flow waves to measure lung resistance (R) and reactance (X). The data obtained on the mechanical properties of the large and small airways is a valuable complement to spirometry.
